My Favorite Mother's Day Gift!
When my kids were little the handmade Mother's Day gifts and cards were sweet to receive. I really knew how important I was to them. Through their teen years I really had my doubts about how important I was to them. Now that they're adults, their expressions of gratefulness mean more to me than any gift. Words like "My heart overflows with love and happiness that I know you, that you are my Mom, that you love me" and "I appreciate you in my life more and more every year" and "You're the best Mommy ever", are the absolutely, hands down, best gifts I am given by my children. Psalms 16:24 says "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones". I couldn't say it in a better way. Those old bones of doubt, regret, sadness and fear seem to become stronger with joy, assurance, trust and peace when fed the sweet honey of gratefulness.
